the faint @ 9.30c

4 carrots

There is no workout quite as fun or sweaty as spending an hour and a half in a mosh pit. Last night Petrov danced his booty to a mix of the standard faint songs and 5 or 6 new songs that the band was testing out on the audience. For the most part the new songs have the standard electro-rock sound one associates with the faint. The exception was a single slow song that started the encore, that was not in Petrov's opinion very good at all and only worsened by a squealing microphone that plagued the first half of the song. Let it be known... mosh pits do not enjoy slow songs during the encore. however, my poor exhausted legs reveled the chance to relax.

The venue was overrun with a 18+ crowd that has two clear redeeming qualities for the annoyance of the standard 18-21 yo audience: 1) everyone is shorter than Petrov and 2) the line at the bar was vastly shorter and quicker. Regardless the show the show was extremely fun for Petrov and the new album sounds like it will likely shape up well. Petrov gives The Faint 4 carrots for a job well done (and rehearsed).
